Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and execute advanced planned maintenance (PMs) – ~35%
  • Diagnose and resolve complex unplanned maintenance issues – ~25%
  • Support and optimize chemical wastewater treatment systems – ~40%

Core Responsibilities

  • Serve as a technical lead for facility maintenance activities and troubleshooting efforts
  • Perform advanced diagnostics on electrical, mechanical, and fluid systems
  • Lead root cause analysis (RCA) and implement corrective/preventive actions
  • Oversee and optimize pump rebuilds, system performance, and reliability improvements
  • Ensure accurate documentation and reporting within maintenance software (e.g., Limble)
  • Provide guidance, training, and mentorship to Facilities Technicians I–IIIDevelop and improve preventive maintenance strategies and schedules
  • Support facility improvement projects, including equipment upgrades and installations
  • Create and review technical drawings, schematics, and CAD layouts
  • Ensure strict adherence to safety protocols, including LOTO and hazardous material handling
  • Coordinate with vendors, contractors, and internal stakeholders as needed

Other Duties

  • Off-site travel (e.g., suppliers, machine shops, emergency part sourcing)
  • Lead or assist in capital improvement and reliability projects
  • Participate in audits, inspections, and compliance initiatives
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives related to uptime, cost, and safety
  • Support chemical wastewater treatment system optimization and compliance reporting

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • 5+ years of experience in electrical, mechanical, or facilities maintenance
  • Strong expertise in industrial electrical, plumbing, and mechanical systems
  • Advanced troubleshooting and diagnostic skills
  • Experience leading maintenance tasks or small teams/projects
  • Proficiency with maintenance tracking systems (e.g., Limble) and data analysis
  • Strong understanding of chemical wastewater treatment processes
  • Ability to read and develop technical drawings and CAD schematics
  • Deep knowledge of LOTO procedures and safety compliance requirements
  • Strong critical thinking, leadership, and organizational skills
  • Ability to work effectively in hazardous, high-temperature, or cleanroom environments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook)

Education/Certification Requirements

  • High School Diploma (minimum)
  • Associate degree (preferred) in Electrical, Mechanical, HVAC, or related field
  • Trade certifications or licenses (highly preferred)
  • Additional certifications in safety, electrical systems, or wastewater treatment (preferred)

Work Experience Preferred

  • 5+ years in industrial or facilities maintenance
  • 3+ years working with chemical wastewater treatment systems
  • Experience as a senior technician, lead, or specialist role
  • Demonstrated experience in equipment reliability or maintenance program development

Physical Demands and Working Conditions

  • Work Environment: Cleanroom and industrial facility setting
  • Exposure to hazardous materials and chemicals
  • Physical Demands: Ability to kneel, reach, climb, walk, push, pull, and grasp
  • Stand for extended periods
  • Lift 50+ lbs regularly, occasionally more
  • Work in hot, cold, and confined environments
  • Handle and work around chemicals such as arsenic and aluminum dust
  • Wear required personal protective equipment (PPE)
  • Environmental Exposure: Moderate noise levels
  • Frequent interruptions
  • Strict adherence to safety and PPE requirements
