About the role
Springs Rescue Mission seeks a Facilities Technician Instructor to join our team. This role involves creating a safe, welcoming environment while teaching practical skills to equip individuals experiencing homelessness with confidence, purpose, and a path toward lasting independence.
Responsibilities
- Work with the facilities team to schedule, maintain, and execute all cleaning/janitorial/custodian tasks.
- Collaborate effectively with the Vocational Training team.
- Collaborate with the Sr. Manager of Vocational Training to maintain budget and properly steward resources.
- Teach the facilities Vocational Training Curriculum.
- Work with vocational trainees to ensure acceptable quality of work.
- Complete and submit monthly reports as directed by supervisor.
- Respond to emergency calls.
- Drive on behalf of Springs Rescue Mission, requiring a valid driver’s license and clean driving record.
Requirements
- 2+ years’ experience in building maintenance, carpentry, electrical, and plumbing.
- Forklift trainer certification preferred.
- Highschool Diploma required.
- Custodial/Janitorial trade certificates preferred.

- Christ-centered and compassionate attitude in dealing with people including the homeless.
- Flexible, able to appropriately respond to emergencies and needs of SRM.
- Able to negotiate and manage projects effectively.
- Good supervisory skills, able to properly train others.
- Computer literate.
- Able to read, write, and perform accurate mathematical computations.
- Valid Colorado driver’s license required.
Working Conditions/Physical Factors
- Occasionally: sitting, stretching, climbing, work at high or elevated levels.
- Frequently: reaching, lifting, exposed to dust/odors/fumes, climbing stairs, must be able to lift up to 50 pounds, walking, talking, manual dexterity, operate vehicles/trucks/forklifts/other equipment.
- Continuously: standing, climbing, bending, carrying, kneeling, walking, adequate vision and hearing, routine interactions with homeless impoverished people in recovery and mentally ill individuals, good mental condition to withstand consistently medium to high levels of stress.

Deadline for Applications
The deadline for applications is 2 weeks from the posting. Hourly rate and benefits include the following: $19.00-$20.00/hour (Depending on Experience). Benefits include:

Benefits
