About the Role

We are seeking a Facilities Technician II to manage, execute, and support building and plant operations, including labs, manufacturing plants, utilities, equipment, and systems. The role involves routine inspections, maintaining documented records, and being on-call for emergencies to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and GMPs. Effective communication and collaboration with various departments are essential to meet facility needs and resolve issues quickly.

Work location may require up to 100% travel to client sites based on project demands. Shift: 7pm–7am overnights, 3–4 nights per week.

Responsibilities

• Schedule, coordinate, and oversee outside service providers for routine corrective and preventative maintenance (CM/PM) tasks under building, system, or equipment maintenance contracts.
• Support verification and maintenance using PIDs, HVAC, electrical, one-lines, and process flow diagrams (PFDs).
• Ensure all corrective and preventative maintenance tasks are completed and documented according to policies and procedures.
• Perform, schedule, coordinate, and oversee emergency troubleshooting and repair on HVAC, mechanical, utility systems, and lab/manufacturing equipment (GxP and non-GxP).
• Conduct routine inspections of equipment and facility utilities to identify issues before they escalate.
• Maintain documented records of inspections, preventative maintenance, and repairs following approved SOPs and work instructions for compliance and audits.
• Respond to alarms and emergencies, such as equipment failures or power outages, following facility emergency response procedures.
• Collaborate with engineering, manufacturing, quality control, and R&D departments to meet facility needs.
• Troubleshoot systems to quickly identify and resolve issues.
• Prioritize tasks and manage time effectively with minimal oversight.

Requirements

• High school diploma with technical certifications or vocational training; equivalent on-the-job or military technical experience may be considered.
• Minimum of 2–6 years of project/facilities engineering experience or experience as a general contractor, construction manager, or subcontractor.
• Facilities background preferred; experience with process equipment, CAPEX, and GMP cleanrooms.
• Demonstrated understanding of facility systems, utilities, and equipment.
• Adherence to safety protocols, including wearing appropriate PPE and following emergency procedures.
• Familiarity with regulatory requirements and good manufacturing practices (GMPs).
• Strong collaboration, communication, prioritization, and problem-solving skills.
• Highly motivated, independent, detail-oriented team player with initiative and a collaborative attitude.

Physical Demands

• Regular use of a computer keyboard and mouse; frequent reaching with hands and arms, talking, and listening.
• Frequent walking, sitting, and lifting/carrying objects up to 25 pounds.
• Occasional standing, stooping, or kneeling.
• Close vision and ability to adjust focus required.

Work Environment

The role operates in an indoor, temperate environment with moderate noise levels, bright lighting, and conditions typical of an office or facility setting.
