Facilities Technician II

About the role

The Facilities Technician II plays a crucial role in maintaining the operational integrity of CIMA Aviation’s FAA Part 145 certificated repair station and MRO facility in Doral, FL. Reporting to the Production Manager, this mid-level technician is responsible for performing routine and corrective maintenance, executing PM tasks, diagnosing and troubleshooting equipment issues, and supporting overall facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Perform routine and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, plumbing, lighting, and overhead door systems.
• Execute scheduled Preventive Maintenance (PM) tasks and maintain accurate logs and records.
• Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical, electrical, and pneumatic/hydraulic issues on industrial equipment and aviation ground support equipment.
• Absorb and coordinate third-party vendors and contractors for specialized inspections, certifications, and repairs.
• Conduct general building maintenance including carpentry, painting, minor structural repairs, and groundskeeping/snow removal.
• Support facility cleanliness and organization, conduct routine inspections, and address identified hazards.
• Ensure fire and life-safety systems are functioning correctly and are tested/documented on schedule.
• Operate company vehicles and material handling equipment to move tools, parts, and supplies.
• Maintain compliance with FAA Part 145 repair station requirements, OSHA regulations, EPA standards, and applicable building codes.
• Respond to maintenance requests from building occupants and resolve issues promptly.

Requirements

• 2–5 years of experience in building/facilities maintenance, industrial maintenance, or a related mechanical/electrical trade; aviation, manufacturing, or regulated-facility experience preferred.
• Working knowledge of HVAC, electrical, and plumbing systems, with demonstrated ability to troubleshoot and repair common issues.
• Some exposure to industrial equipment such as compressed air systems, generators, or pneumatic/hydraulic equipment preferred.
• Comfortable using hand and power tools safely and effectively, with strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills.
• Strong communication and customer service skills when responding to occupant requests.
• Ability to pass a pre-employment and random drug and alcohol screening as well as a background check.
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• OSHA 10-Hour (or higher) General Industry certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.

Skills

• High school diploma or GED required; trade school training or an associate degree in a mechanical, electrical, or facilities-related discipline preferred.
• Valid state driver's license with a clean driving record required.
• Forklift certification preferred, or ability to obtain within 30 days of hire.
• OSHA 10-Hour (or higher) General Industry certification preferred, or willingness to obtain.

Compensation and Benefits

This is a full-time, hourly position that falls between our entry-level Facilities Technician/Driver and our Facilities Supervisor roles, based on current South Florida market data for facilities and building maintenance technicians.
