About the role

The Facilities & Safety Coordinator is the point of contact for laboratory and office needs, supporting team members, outside vendors, and property management. This role involves coordinating facilities maintenance, safety audits, office moves, equipment calibration, and repairs while ensuring a safe and secure work environment.

Responsibilities

  • Receives work order requests for facilities maintenance from employees and promptly responds to internal inquiries, requirements, and complaints.
  • Supports overall Facilities & EH&S duties, including coordination and execution of safety audits, office moves, equipment calibration, cleaning services, and reconfigurations.
  • Assists I.T. with desktop configuration and support during moves and as necessary.
  • Inspects and performs preventative maintenance or as-needed repairs on facilities or systems, including mechanical, electrical, HVAC, generators, fire, and safety systems.
  • Makes basic repairs and coordinates the work of outside vendors or suppliers when necessary.
  • Oversees equipment preventative maintenance lists, ensuring tasks are added and completed in a timely manner.
  • Proactively identifies and schedules on-demand maintenance for completion within an acceptable time frame.
  • Administers safety and security-related matters, including safety committee meetings, evacuation drills, and security software.
  • Responds to and resolves system operational problems, investigates incidents, and enforces safety/security policies and procedures.
  • Serves as a facilitator and critical participant of the emergency response team (ERT).
  • Provides cross-functional support to the office manager/administrative assistant and ensures the safety and security of all team members.
  • Administers off-site warehouse management, storage inventories, and retrieval systems for furniture, records, and related items.
  • Assists team members with ergonomic needs, advising and procuring equipment based on assessment results.
  • Maintains department spreadsheets, forms, and documents in an organized and secure manner for accurate posting and reporting.
  • Engages in work as dispatched by the Facilities Supervisor and reports all discrepancies to them.
  • Secures appropriate approvals when necessary and maintains effective working relationships with coworkers and all levels of employees.
  • Demonstrates and promotes the company vision with regular attendance and punctuality.
  • Applies GMP/GLP in all areas of responsibility and conducts activities in a safe and efficient manner.
  • Performs other duties as assigned and adjusts work hours as needed to meet client deadlines.
  • Adheres to site environmental health and safety (EHS) requirements.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma or GED.
  • 2+ years of Facilities & Safety-related experience; an AA degree is useful.
  • Valid Driver’s License and Proof of Insurance.
  • Ability to lift and move heavy objects.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office, including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint.
  • Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills.
  • Self-motivated and able to work with minimal supervision.
  • Authorization to work in the United States indefinitely without restriction or sponsorship.
  • Due to the nature of this position, candidates who reside within a 30-minute commute of the worksite are strongly encouraged to apply.

Pay

$31.25/Hr. - $36.54/Hr.

Schedule

Monday through Friday, 8 AM–5 PM, with some weekends.
