Facilities Technician - Electrician III / IV-Days

About the role

The Facilities Technician – Electrician III/IV (Days) performs preventive, predictive, and corrective maintenance on HVAC, electrical, and utility equipment in a multi-product, large-scale biologics manufacturing facility. This role operates on a Monday–Friday schedule (5:30 AM–2 PM) with alternating on-call support.

Responsibilities

• Manage alarms for utility and facility equipment, including HVAC air handlers, refrigeration, cold rooms, chillers, cooling towers, pumps, drives, electrical switchgear, UPS systems, power distribution equipment, and emergency generators.
• Maintain electrical equipment associated with process equipment such as bioreactors, centrifuges, purification skids, columns, glasswashers, and autoclaves.
• Service refrigeration systems in cold rooms, refrigerators, freezers (including -80°C ultra-low freezers), incubators, cryogenic freezers, and HVAC systems.
• Apply knowledge of NEC and local electrical codes.
• Perform work in HVAC/refrigeration and/or electrical trades.
• Complete GxP documentation, including logbooks and work orders, in a timely manner.
• Use basic hand tools, conduit benders, and threaders.

Requirements

• Good planning and project management skills.
• Hands-on experience troubleshooting and maintaining industrial electrical systems, including power distribution, motor controls, drives, switchgear, generators, and related utility equipment.
• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics, one-line diagrams, P&IDs, and technical manuals.
• Proficiency in reading, writing, and applying drawings, mathematics, and handbook formulas.
• Working knowledge of NEC and applicable local electrical codes.
• Experience using a CMMS or similar work order/documentation system.
• Ability to complete GMP/GxP documentation accurately and on time.
• Ability to work in a cleanroom and manufacturing environment with required PPE.
• Physical ability to lift 50 pounds, climb, bend, stand for extended periods, and work at heights, in mechanical rooms, outdoor conditions, and cleanroom spaces.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Basic computer proficiency, including work order systems, email, and electronic documentation.
• Demonstrated knowledge of electrical safety practices and Lockout/Tagout (LOTO).
• Familiarity with arc-flash, shock, permits, and safety procedures.
• Ability to identify unsafe conditions, stop work when necessary, and escalate safety concerns promptly.
• Ability to safely use electrical test equipment, hand tools, and required PPE.

Qualifications

Facilities Technician III

• 5–10 years of experience with a high school diploma, technical school, or a certificate of completion at a 2-year technical school.
• 1–3+ years of experience in plant or equipment maintenance, or military training, with a majority of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

Facilities Technician IV

• 10–15 years of experience with a high school diploma, technical school, or a certificate of completion at a 2-year technical school.
• 3–5+ years of experience in plant or equipment maintenance, or military training, with a majority of experience in the biotech/pharmaceutical industry.

Preferred Qualifications

• Biotech, pharmaceutical, or other regulated manufacturing experience.
• Journeyman electrician license or equivalent apprenticeship completion.
• Experience with HVAC/refrigeration systems and critical utilities.
• Experience with BMS/EMS systems.
• Experience supporting 24/7 manufacturing operations and on-call response.
• Experience with emergency power systems.

Pay

Annual base pay ranges from $65,068 to $97,602 USD, depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Additional incentives may include a short-term bonus and equity-based long-term incentives.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 5:30 AM–2 PM, with alternating on-call support.
