Facilities Technician

About the role

Performs general maintenance, repair and inspection of hospital systems along with equipment to provide a safe and comfortable environment for the patient and staff. Responsible to adhere to all applicable maintenance and repair work practices, quality standards, and policies in accordance with building structure and plant equipment.

Responsibilities

• Demonstrates thorough knowledge, repair, inspection, and use of hand tools and power tools commonly used in building maintenance and plant repairs.
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge, repair, use, and the instruction in the use of measuring devices such as rulers, calipers, dividers, micrometers, gauges, etc.
• Demonstrates ability to effectively use and instruct in the proper use of test equipment required for building repairs and maintenance (i.e. Volt/Ohm Meter, electronic receptacle analyzer, safety testing equipment, infrared devices, etc.).
• Demonstrates thorough knowledge of repair procedures and practices related to carpentry, plumbing devices, electrical work, lock cylinders, painting, door hardware, drain blockage, and general building and machine repairs as monitored by managers and team leaders.
• Demonstrates basic knowledge and proper compliance procedures of Plant Safety Practices (i.e. OSHA, NFPA 99
