About the Role

Perform routine, corrective, and building maintenance activities for all Treasure Coast Hospice properties and thrift store locations.

Responsibilities

  • Complete scheduled preventative and routine general maintenance tasks on all Treasure Coast Hospice properties in compliance with safety regulations.
  • Timely completion of service calls for repairs and/or replacements as measured by facility work order tracking data.
  • Efficient movement and setup of office furniture as measured by employee satisfaction.
  • Follow safety practices as measured by employee incident reports.
  • Maintain a high level of urgency, customer consciousness, and service excellence.
  • Participate as an active supporter of the Treasure Coast Hospice compliance program, including reporting and complying with all Federal, State, and Local laws as well as the organization’s compliance program.
  • Fulfill responsibilities related to the success of the organization’s strategic plan, as requested and assigned.

Requirements

  • Minimum of one (1) year experience using basic knowledge of painting, carpentry, electrical, HVAC, and plumbing.
  • Skills levels required should include at least basic HVAC maintenance and basic electrical troubleshooting.
  • Ability to maintain harmonious, constructive relationships with internal and external customers.
  • Possession of a valid Florida driver’s license with proof of automobile insurance.
  • Attendance is a condition of employment.

Working Conditions

This is a medium work position. Exerting up to 50 pounds of force occasionally, up to 30 pounds of force frequently, and/or up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.

  • Climbing: Ascending or descending ladders, stairs, scaffolding, ramps, poles, and the like, using feet and legs and/or hands and arms.
  • Stooping: Bending body downward and forward by bending spine at the waist.
  • Kneeling: Bending legs at knee to come to a rest on knee or knees.
  • Crouching: Bending the body downward and forward by bending leg and spine.
  • Crawling: Moving about on hands and knees or hands and feet.
  • Reaching: Extending hand(s) and arm(s) in any direction.
  • Standing: Particularly for sustained periods of time.
  • Walking: Moving about on foot to accomplish tasks, particularly for long distances or moving from one work site to another.
  • Pushing: Using upper extremities to press against something with steady force in order to thrust forward, downward, or outward.
  • Pulling: Using upper extremities to exert force in order to draw, haul, or tug objects in a sustained motion.
  • Lifting: Raising objects from a lower to a higher position or moving objects horizontally from position-to-position.

The worker is subject to outside environmental conditions.

Additional Information

  • May be required to perform emergency duty before, during, and/or beyond normal work hours or days in the event of an emergency, crisis situation, or disaster (man-made or natural), including evacuation sites.
  • Position will work in a smoke-free location, and adherence to all smoking restrictions is expected.

OSHA Position: Categorized as category II (involves no routine exposure to blood, body fluids/tissues but may occasionally require performing unplanned category I tasks).
