Facilities Technician

Former patients may not be hired at the same location where they were treated until a minimum of one year has elapsed since the completion of their treatment at that location. Former patients may be considered for employment at other RCA locations within a year after treatment, subject to the standard hiring process without compromising ethical standards, patient care, or the reputation of RCA.

Compensation

$25+ per hour, based on experience.

Schedule

Monday–Friday, 8:00 AM–4:30 PM.

Responsibilities

  • Maintain and repair machines, mechanical equipment, and buildings.
  • Fix or replace faulty electrical switches, outlets, and circuit breakers.
  • Inspect and diagnose problems and determine the best corrective action.
  • Perform routine preventive maintenance to ensure smooth operation of machines.
  • Assemble and set up machinery or equipment.
  • Plan repair work using blueprints or diagrams.
  • Conduct general cleaning and upkeep of buildings and properties.
  • Order supplies from catalogs and storerooms.
  • Meet with clients to estimate repairs and costs.
  • Keep detailed records of all maintenance and repair work.

Requirements

  • High School Diploma, GED, or equivalent experience.
  • Licensing requirements vary by state and locality.

Skills

  • Customer-service skills: Interact with customers regularly, address questions, and provide friendly service.
  • Dexterity: Perform tasks requiring steady hands and good hand-eye coordination (e.g., repairing small devices, connecting components, using hand tools).
  • Troubleshooting skills: Identify, diagnose, and repair problems; perform tests to determine root causes.

Work Environment

Facilities Technicians may work inside a single building (e.g., hotel or hospital) or maintain multiple buildings (e.g., apartment complexes or college campuses).

Physical Demands

  • Regularly required to talk or hear.
  • Frequently required to use hands to finger, handle, or feel objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to stand, walk, sit, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift and/or move objects up to 25 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.

Travel

Travel is primarily local during the business day, though some out-of-area and overnight travel may be expected.
