Welcome to the Virginia Guesthouse, a 214-room hotel featuring 25,000 square feet of conference and event space located on the beautiful Grounds of the University of Virginia. We’re building a team that’s as welcoming and dynamic as the guests we’ll serve.

Responsibilities

We are looking for an experienced Facilities Technician, who is highly motivated, and detail oriented to join our team! This individual performs a variety of facilities trade functions such as the installation, maintenance, or repair of equipment, HVAC, Painting, wall repair, tile work and upkeep of the preventative maintenance program of the resort/hotel.

Your Role Performs repairs, preventive and general maintenance of the facility's mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and HVAC systems. Performs troubleshooting & repair of electrical systems consisting of line and control voltage. Including, but limited to appliances, receptacles, switches, lighting, and motors. Troubleshoots and repairs plumbing fixtures, piping, drains and sanitary systems. Make repairs to woodwork, wall vinyl, doors and window, flooring, etc.

Requirements

• Experience working in a Maintenance role at a hotel or resort
• Knowledge of "household" repairs (carpentry, electrical, plumbing, etc.)
• Engaging and welcoming personality
• Strong attention to detail
• Can work under pressure in a fast-paced environment
• Passion for creating an exceptional experience for all guests
• Excellent communication skills
• Available to work various shifts to include weekends and holidays
• Ability to walk, stand, reach, crouch, bend, push/pull throughout duration of shift.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

Pay

Compensation $27.00 - $28.00

Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to each candidate, including but not limited to skill set, years & depth of experience, certifications and specific office location.
