About the role

Join our Facilities Team as a hands-on problem solver with HVAC experience to maintain one of Tampa Bay’s most unique and dynamic properties. This position offers variety and the opportunity to work on everything from building installations and general repairs to emergency maintenance. You’ll collaborate with the Facilities Manager and other trades to keep our facilities safe, comfortable, functional, and event-ready.

Responsibilities

  • Perform general maintenance and repairs to protect infrastructure and reduce operational costs.
  • Collaborate with the Facilities Supervisor to plan and complete daily tasks and projects, coordinating with other maintenance trades.
  • Install and repair building components such as doors, cabinets, paneling, flooring, and bulletin boards; handle demolition, roof repairs, and sprinkler head counts.
  • Assist with moving heavy objects, operate high-reach equipment, and use specialized tools (e.g., airless sprayers, striping machines, sanders).
  • Maintain an organized and clean workshop, care for tools and equipment, and report maintenance issues.
  • Prepare surfaces for plaster or cement work, tape sheetrock joints, caulk, waterproof walls, and seal floor cracks.
  • Provide emergency maintenance support as required.
  • Participate in a rotating weekend schedule.
  • Perform additional maintenance duties and support other tasks as assigned.

Requirements

  • High School diploma or equivalent required.
  • Minimum of three to five years of experience with HVAC and general facilities/maintenance work.
  • HVAC Certification, Plumbing, or Electrician Licenses are a plus.

Skills

  • Ability to identify problems and implement efficient solutions.
  • Strong verbal and written communication skills.
  • Intermediate math skills (e.g., calculating proportions, area).
  • Ability to work independently without direct supervision.

Physical Demands & Working Conditions

  • Duties are mostly performed outside of an office environment.
  • Must be able to stand, sit, walk, talk, hear, taste/smell, and use hands.
  • Requires stooping, kneeling, crawling, crouching, climbing, and balancing.
  • Must regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally lift and/or move over 100 pounds.
  • Exposure to environmental demands: wet/humid weather, high/precarious places, toxic/caustic chemicals, extreme temperatures, mechanical parts, fumes, airborne particles, and outdoor weather conditions.
  • Occasional risk of electrical shock.
