About the role
Bouldering Project is a community-focused climbing gym that offers a variety of activities including climbing, yoga, and fitness classes. Located in multiple markets across the U.S., the gym aims to provide inclusive and inspiring spaces for people of all levels and backgrounds.
Responsibilities
- Participate in day-to-day maintenance tasks such as basic electrical, HVAC, plumbing, drywall, climbing wall repair, climbing pad repair, and basic IT troubleshooting.
- Perform regular cleaning duties including vacuuming mats, mopping floors, and sanitizing restrooms and fitness equipment.
- Maintain a clean and organized facility and retail space.
- Conduct safety and bathroom walkthroughs, resolving immediate needs.
- Support opening and closing procedures for cleaning and maintenance.
- Utilize CMMS software.
- Help with gym expansion projects as needed.
- Maintain cleanliness and organization in all storage/work areas.
- Promote employee motivation, job satisfaction, and professionalism via dynamic interactions, positive feedback, and creative problem solving.
- Participate in regular meetings with the Facilities Manager.
- Work in a safe manner at all times.
- Comply with State and Federal safety regulations and Bouldering Project Safety manual and guidelines.
- Respond to accidents and incidents following BP safety protocols.
- Complete incident reports accurately and promptly.
- Maintain a safe environment throughout the gym.
- Use proper PPE and ladder safety techniques.
Requirements
- A flexible schedule including nights and weekends.
- A genuine desire to collaborate with others.
- Effective communication skills.
- A willingness to adhere to Bouldering Project policies and procedures.
- The ability to lift 50lbs.
- An enthusiasm about working in the rock climbing/outdoor business.
- Two or more years of construction and mechanical/electrical/plumbing/maintenance or comparable experience.
- The ability to research maintenance issues and source parts independently, providing purchase lists to the Facilities Manager for review and approval.
- A willingness and comfort on ladders.
