Facilities Technician

The Facilities Technician maintains a clean, safe, and professional appearance throughout the facility and surrounding property, ensuring a welcoming environment for employees, visitors, and customers. This position reports to the Purchasing Manager.
Responsibilities
- Cleans and sanitizes restrooms, breakrooms, offices, and common areas.
- Replenishes restroom and breakroom supplies, including paper products, soap, and cleaning materials.
- Empties trash and recycling containers throughout the facility.
- Sweeps, mops, vacuums, and maintains floors and other surfaces.
- Cleans doors, windows, fixtures, and other facility areas as needed.
- Performs groundskeeping duties, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, leaf removal, and general landscape maintenance.
- Maintains the cleanliness and appearance of parking lots, sidewalks, entrances, and outdoor work areas.
- Removes litter and debris.
- Assists with basic facility maintenance and repair tasks.
- Conducts routine inspections of indoor and outdoor areas and reports safety hazards, maintenance concerns, or repair needs.
- Operates and maintains groundskeeping and cleaning equipment safely and effectively.
- Follows all company safety policies and procedures.
- Supports special projects and facility-related activities.
- Other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to cleanliness.
- Ability to work independently and efficiently with minimal supervision.
- Dependable attendance and strong work ethic.
- Ability to perform a variety of indoor and outdoor maintenance tasks.
- Knowledge of proper cleaning methods, equipment, and materials.
- Good organizational and time-management skills.
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions.
- Basic understanding of workplace safety practices.
- Positive attitude and willingness to assist where needed.
- High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
- Previous groundskeeping, janitorial, custodial, landscaping, or facility maintenance experience a plus.
- Valid driver's license and clean driving history required.
Physical Demands
- Must be able to accurately exchange information with co-workers and management.
- Heavy lifting (50 lbs) is occasionally required.
- Must be able to traverse facilities and grounds by climbing, balancing, lifting, walking, stooping, bending, pushing, pulling, and carrying materials.
- Must be able to work indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions and temperatures.
- Must be able to safely operate cleaning equipment, lawn maintenance equipment, and basic hand tools.
- Requires manual dexterity and visual acuity to perform cleaning, maintenance, and inspection duties.
Schedule
Normal work hours are Monday through Friday from 8:00 am - 5:00 pm. Hours are subject to change at the discretion of management.

Location
Big Top is headquartered in Perry, Florida, about 50 miles outside of Tallahassee. Perry offers an abundance of outdoor activities such as hunting, fishing, camping, and boating.
