Facilities Technician 4

Under the supervision of the Director of Facilities, performs electrical, plumbing, carpentry, A/C, door hardware, and general maintenance duties in all Broward House owned properties.

Responsibilities

• Conduct daily/weekly tours of the premises and report or attend to maintenance needs.
• Complete all maintenance service requests as assigned.
• Perform make-ready process of vacant apartments, including carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, drywall, and basic electrical tasks.
• Install ceramic tile and laminate flooring.
• Service air conditioning units for preventative and repair maintenance.
• Complete grounds work as directed, including picking up trash, power washing walkways, sweeping curbs and dumpster areas, and maintaining landscaping beds and other common areas.
• Alert Facilities Coordinator of any unusual occurrences or potential damage.
• Maintain professional and courteous interactions with residents, vendors, contractors, and fellow employees.
• Ensure orderliness, safety, and cleanliness of properties.
• Adhere to safety standards complying with company, local, city, state, and federal guidelines.
• Perform fire safety equipment checks and assist with fire drills.
• Respond to duties during hurricanes or other emergencies.
• Complete and submit all required maintenance-related paperwork promptly.
• Participate in special projects and other responsibilities as assigned.

Requirements

• Proficiency in the use of standard power and hand tools.
• Basic math skills for measurement and computation.
• Ability to read and comprehend assembly directions.
• Some physical effort may be required to push, move, and lift objects less than 20 lbs.
• Balance between task and people skills.
• Must pass all drug and background screening requirements.
