About the role

We are currently seeking a Facilities Technician I to join our Facilities team and help advance our mission of empowering people to live healthier, more fulfilling lives.

Responsibilities

  • Provide entry-level maintenance and operational support across BHN facilities, helping ensure buildings, grounds, equipment, and workspaces remain safe, functional, clean, and welcoming.
  • Complete routine and short-term maintenance projects, including painting, basic household repairs, remodeling, refurbishing, and other assigned facility improvements.
  • Perform minor plumbing, electrical, carpentry, HVAC-related, and general building repairs within the scope of training and assigned responsibilities.
  • Move, deliver, and assemble furniture, equipment, supplies, and materials between BHN locations and support Facilities Technicians II and III with special projects and larger repair or maintenance work.
  • Clean windows and glass doors, complete housekeeping duties as needed, and maintain building exteriors and grounds in a clean and orderly condition.
  • Operate company vehicles to obtain materials, travel between agency sites, transport equipment or supplies, and deliver refuse to approved waste-management facilities as assigned.
  • Follow all applicable safety and security standards, use tools and equipment properly, identify unsafe conditions, and promptly report building, equipment, or environmental concerns.
  • Assist programs and staff with the secure preparation, protection, movement, and storage of sensitive records for archiving when requested.
  • Participate in the department’s rotating on-call schedule and respond to after-hours building needs, urgent maintenance issues, and facility activities as required.
  • Communicate work status clearly, maintain accurate records, complete assigned training and professional development, remain flexible with non-routine duties, and perform other responsibilities requested by Facilities leadership.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED required.
  • Basic or entry-level knowledge of building systems, preventive maintenance, general repairs, tools, and facilities-related work.
  • Basic familiarity with facility safety standards and emergency procedures, including fire safety, evacuation, equipment handling, and equipment failure response.
  • OSHA 10 certification required or must be obtained within 90 days of employment.
  • Ability to complete basic painting, plumbing, electrical, carpentry, cleaning, groundskeeping, furniture assembly, and equipment-moving tasks safely and accurately.
  • Strong dependability, adaptability, judgment, customer-service, organization, attention-to-detail, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to follow instructions, manage competing priorities, work independently with appropriate consultation, complete tasks on time, and communicate delays or concerns promptly.
  • Basic proficiency with cell phones, computers, email, agency communication systems, work-order information, and standard office technology.
  • Valid driver’s license and a reliable, properly registered and inspected vehicle available during all working hours required.
  • Ability to participate in rotating on-call and after-hours coverage and meet the physical requirements of the role, including prolonged standing and walking and lifting or carrying up to 50 pounds, with or without reasonable accommodation.

Pay

$22.00-$24.00/hr
