About the role
The Facilities Support Specialist provides hands-on custodial, maintenance, and logistical support to ensure a clean, organized, and operationally ready facility environment. This role focuses on execution of daily cleaning schedules, minor facility maintenance tasks, inventory coordination, and workspace support. Through reliability, attention to detail, and customer service, the Specialist upholds cleanliness standards and contributes to overall workplace safety and professionalism. This position plays a critical role in supporting operational continuity and sustaining the company's standards of excellence.
Key Responsibilities
- Execute daily cleaning, maintenance, and custodial tasks to maintain a safe and professional facility environment
- Inspect all facility rooms, restrooms, and shared spaces daily to ensure cleanliness, organization, and removal of trash
- Maintain restrooms and break areas, including monitoring and restocking consumable supplies
- Conduct scheduled deep-cleaning activities, including mopping, dusting, cleaning appliances, and sanitizing shared surfaces
- Maintain janitorial supply inventories, track usage, and identify reorder requirements for leadership approval
- Receive, restock, and organize supply deliveries in coordination with Facility department management
- Assist with meeting, conference, and event setup and breakdown
- Assemble, relocate, and configure office furniture and equipment as directed
- Support basic facility repairs such as painting, patching, replacing light bulbs, and moving equipment
- Provide escort duties for uncleared personnel in restricted or controlled areas as required
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- One to three (1-3) years of experience in facility support, custodial, or maintenance work
- Bilingual (English / Spanish) written and spoken
- Must have the ability to obtain and maintain a Secret clearance
- Required Screenings: Background Checks; Credit Checks
Qualifications
- Experience with janitorial supply management, deep cleaning, restocking, escort duties, and furniture assembly preferred
- Experience supporting office moves, furniture assembly, workspace setup, or event preparation preferred
- Experience working in corporate, government, laboratory, or controlled-access environments preferred
- Experience supporting shipping, receiving, inventory tracking, or supply coordination preferred
- Proficient in the use of basic hand tools and cleaning equipment
- Reliable, detail-oriented, and customer service oriented
- Reliability, punctuality, and consistent attendance
- Professional demeanor and positive attitude when interacting with employees, visitors, and vendors
- Ability to follow written and verbal instructions accurately and complete tasks with attention to detail
- Demonstrated ability to work independently and complete assigned tasks with minimal supervision
- Basic familiarity with custodial procedures, cleaning equipment, and janitorial supply management
- Willingness to learn basic maintenance tasks, tools, and facility procedures
- Ability to identify cleanliness, maintenance, or safety concerns and report them
- Organizational skills and ability to maintain orderly storage, supply, and work areas
- Commitment to workplace safety and adherence to established safety and security procedures
- Ability to support team operations and adapt to changing daily priorities
- Familiarity with OSHA safety practices, safe chemical handling, or workplace safety procedures preferred
