Facilities Support Associate

About the Role

Full-time Facilities Support Associate position at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Oneida/Huntsville, covering both the Oneida and Huntsville campuses Monday through Friday.

Responsibilities

• Clean all restroom facilities
• Stock/resupply all paper products and hand soap in restrooms
• Clean, buff, and wax floors
• Clean spills and other hazards with appropriate equipment
• Remove trash from classrooms, shop areas, offices, and common areas
• Clean and disinfect all work areas to reduce the risk of or potential spread of COVID-19 and/or other infectious illnesses
• Mow and keep grounds well-manicured
• Perform painting, changing filters, light bulbs, etc. as necessary
• Complete other various maintenance duties as needed
• Close and secure the buildings nightly

Requirements

• High school diploma or HiSET (GED)
• Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
• Must have a valid driver’s license
• A criminal background check will be required for the selected applicant

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous experience (2 years) as a maintenance or custodial worker
• Previous experience in a supervisory role

Skills

• Ability to adapt to changing assignments and manage multiple tasks
• Working knowledge of safety guidelines and procedures
• Familiarity with OSHA/TOSHA guidelines
• Ability to read and understand safety data sheets, operating instructions, procedures, and equipment manuals
• Ability to work independently or with a crew
• Ability to assume a role as crew leader
