About the role

The Tennessee College of Applied Technology Nashville is seeking a full-time Facilities Support Associate. This position performs skilled maintenance tasks across multiple trades and provides leadership in facility operations.

Responsibilities

• Performs skilled maintenance tasks including HVAC/R, electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry as needed.
• Reads blueprints and specifications to estimate materials and supplies required for jobs.
• Conducts on-site inspections to verify materials used and quality of work.
• Orders materials and supplies for various jobs.
• Confers with higher-level supervisors regarding work assignments or personnel issues.
• Performs repairs and/or installation of facilities systems.
• Provides input to the facilities operational budget.
• Establishes and carries out a preventive maintenance program.
• Maintains licensure and certifications.
• Serves as the on-premises authority in area of technical specialty.
• Assigns, supervises, and inspects the work of others.
• Performs other work as assigned.

Requirements

• Two years of full-time maintenance experience in an industrial/commercial setting.
• In-depth knowledge of one or more trade areas, demonstrated by certification or licensure.
• Knowledge of materials, methods, and principles used in construction and maintenance.
• Knowledge of accepted construction methods to determine job costs.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Knowledge of the principles and practices of supervision.

Pay

$53,109 - $63,731
