Facilities Specialist
About the department: The Boulder Site is home to the specialized technical operations/CMC team for oligonucleotides and RNAi therapeutics. The CMC team works alongside Quality, Regulatory, Technical Operations, and RNAi Early Development professionals at our Boulder, Colorado facility and collaborates closely with teams in Lexington, Massachusetts.
About the role
The Facilities Specialist works as a member of the facilities group responsible for completion of work orders, planned and unplanned maintenance, and repairs. This role involves working with the internal operations team and managing external service contractors as needed, as well as coordinating with the facilities manager for scheduling and managing support contractors entering the building.
Relationships
Reports to the Facilities Manager/Supervisor. Internal relationships include working with research associates and colleagues within Operations. External relationships include contact with various facilities support vendors.
Responsibilities
- Assist Facilities and Lab Managers in scheduling preventative maintenance agreements.
- Manage internal facilities systems and support EH&S, Engineering, and Lab Support teams.
- Troubleshoot and repair facilities equipment, including HVAC, plumbing, hoods, and other equipment.
- Coordinate with facilities managers on all maintenance services with external vendors and execute repairs for building operations; independently responsible from inception to resolution on all issues in a timely fashion.
- Communicate with the facilities manager regarding onsite vendors for repairs and maintenance.
- Familiarity with R&D (non-GxP) laboratory practices as related to the tasks being performed.
- Assist the lab manager and facilities manager as contract engineers maintain lab equipment.
- Help manage facilities software, such as the security system, work order system, BAS system, etc.
- Perform other related duties as required.
Physical Requirements
- 0-10% overnight travel required.
- Ability to lift 0-50 lbs.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED and 3+ years of experience required. Equivalent experience for advanced degrees would be an Associate's degree with 1+ years of experience.
- Certificate program for facilities or equivalent work experience preferred.
- 2+ years’ experience in facility maintenance.
Pay
The base compensation range for this position is $75,000 to $85,000. Base compensation is determined based on several factors. This position is also eligible for a company bonus based on individual and company performance.
