Facilities Specialist
Position Summary
Guardian Angel Settlement Association (GASA) is seeking a Facilities Specialist to support the daily operations of our Early Childhood Education campuses. This role includes maintaining clean, safe, and fully operational learning environments across multiple locations.
Key Responsibilities
Maintain indoor and outdoor spaces to ensure cleanliness, safety, and compliance.
Remove trash, manage recyclables, and clean common areas.
Perform routine maintenance, including replacing light bulbs, unclogging drains, and minor plumbing and furniture repairs.
Conduct facility inspections and report major repair needs.
Deep clean floors and surfaces, including scrubbing, buffing, and waxing.
Assist with seasonal exterior maintenance, including snow removal and landscaping.
Support kitchen operations by washing and sanitizing dishes and food preparation areas, supporting meal preparation and service, and cleaning kitchen equipment.
Coordinate supply orders and restocking with administrative staff, pick up and deliver supplies between campuses, and receive, inspect, and organize shipments.
Serve as a point of contact for facility vendors, including HVAC, plumbing, and pest control providers, and communicate maintenance concerns and emergencies promptly to leadership.
Attend staff meetings, trainings, and professional development opportunities, and support occasional agency events that may require evening or weekend participation.
Qualifications
A high school diploma or equivalent is required.
Minimum of 2 years of facilities, custodial, or maintenance experience is required.
Multi-site experience is preferred.
Experience in a nonprofit, school, or childcare setting is a plus.
Basic cooking knowledge and food safety awareness are preferred.
Strong organizational and multitasking skills are required.
The ability to work independently and manage shifting priorities is essential.
The ability to lift and carry 50+ pounds and perform physically demanding work is required.
A valid driver’s license and reliable transportation are required.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills are necessary.
Work Environment
This role involves both indoor and outdoor work across multiple campuses. Frequent walking, standing, lifting, bending, climbing ladders, and physical activity are required. Flexibility is essential, as daily operational and facility needs may change.
