About the role

The Facilities Services Coordinator oversees facilities operations to ensure a safe, efficient, and high-quality physical environment. The role provides direct supervision of custodial staff and coordinates complex, high-visibility facilities needs and events in accordance with established policies and procedures.

Responsibilities

  • Understand all employee work assignments and schedule for adequate coverage.
  • Complete 4 hours of administrative time and 4 hours of cleaning time per day. When necessary, complete additional custodial work assignments.
  • Interview, select, train and evaluate staff. Provide coaching and direction. Take actions related to promotions and discipline as appropriate.
  • Assist with the training of new employees and retraining as necessary.
  • Maintain inventories of products, equipment and other supplies as needed to meet operational and customer needs.
  • Report damage and other irregularities requiring attention or repair.
  • Receive and respond to inquiries and complaints.
  • Maintain effective working relationships with faculty, staff, students and the public.
  • Promote a safe work environment and maintain safety standards to assure compliance with federal, state, local and University Regulations.
  • Aids in planning procedures and work methods and revises or recommends revisions to improve efficiency of operations and services.

Requirements

  • Graduation from high school or GED equivalent, and three years supervisory and facilities management experience, and valid driver’s license.
  • Valid Driver’s license is required and ability to meet and maintain University Driving Policy Standards.

Qualifications

  • Ability to read, write, and follow directions.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead staff, manage shifting priorities, and work effectively with key stakeholders.
  • Experience coordinating services across multiple facilities.
  • Event support or event-driven operations experience.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Basic to intermediate computer skills.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Strong organizational, problem-solving, analytical, and interpersonal skills.
  • Knowledge of University policies and procedures.
  • Familiarity with a computerized maintenance management system (CMMS), preferably AiM.
  • Knowledge of custodial equipment and supplies.
  • Experience in customer service and working with the public.
  • Experience working in an institutional or corporate setting.
  • Professional experience working effectively with individuals from a variety of backgrounds and perspectives.

Monday-Friday, 3:30am-12:30pm
