Facilities Safety Coordinator
About the role
Ensures compliance with healthcare codes and standards for the department and other applicable regulations.
Ensures all required tests, inspections, preventive maintenance, and repairs on safety-related equipment and systems are performed on time and deficiencies are risk assessed and corrected.
Establishes and maintains all safety and regulatory-related documentation.
Captures and coordinates activities and recommendations from outside consultants, vendors, surveyors, and inspectors related to safety and code compliance.
Manages all aspects of the Environment of Care Committee, including safety tours, fire drills, disaster drills, and other emergency drills.
Acts as the hospital liaison and representative with City, County, State, and Federal Agencies.
Develops, coordinates, and presents all safety-related orientation, education, and training to hospital staff.
Performs hazard vulnerability and risk management analysis and accident investigations as needed.
Ensures all safety-related performance goals are achieved.
Meets weekly with the Leadership to report on issues and projects.
Manages all aspects of applicable grant programs.
Interacts with various hospital departments on safety-related issues and conducts research and consultation as requested.

Requirements
- Must be able to read and interpret drawings, construction documents, regulatory codes and standards.
- Able to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Demonstrates the ability to interact with public and staff on all levels while possessing a positive attitude.
- Must be able to read, write and speak conversational English.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
Qualifications
- Associate [Preferred] Field Of Study N/A
- 2+ experience with CMS and AHJ (local, state, federal) [Preferred]
Skills
- Knowledge of healthcare codes and standards.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision.
- Excellent organizational skills and attention to detail.
- Basic computer skills and knowledge of Microsoft Office.
