The Facilities Operations Manager at Canopy Children's Solutions is responsible for overseeing the maintenance and housekeeping activities across the organization. This role ensures the upkeep, safety, and cleanliness of all buildings while maintaining compliance with various regulatory and organizational requirements.
Job Responsibilities
- Create preventive and corrective maintenance schedules and prioritize reports and maintenance work to minimize disruptions.
- Develop detailed work instructions for tasks, tools, and materials required for maintenance.
- Maintain the maintenance software-based work order tracking system and assign tickets to technicians.
- Perform inspections to ensure adherence to established standards and regulations.
- Plan and prepare employee work schedules.
- Select new equipment, tools, and supplies for the housekeeping and maintenance teams.
- Manage inventory to ensure adequate supplies and equipment for efficient operations.
- Coordinate maintenance activities with solution leaders to align with program scheduling.
- Oversee the maintenance and repairs of all fleet/vehicles.
- Assist with maintenance duties, modeling best practices and providing emergency backup.
- Aid in safety training and emergency drills.
- Interview job applicants and potential contract workers to make hiring decisions.
- Provide orientation to new employees and contractors on specific job duties and policies.
- Handle service requests and take corrective action.
- Maintain working conditions and equipment to enhance efficiency, safety, and productivity.
- Keep accurate records of work and approve timesheets on a bi-weekly basis.
- Participate in organizational quality improvement processes.
- Develop contracts involving maintenance services.
- Schedule, manage, and provide back-up for a 24-hour emergency on-call system.
- Monitor service vendors’ efforts and provide necessary follow-up and action.
- Meet annual competency and retraining requirements and ensure staff meets these requirements.
- Available for on-call emergencies, 24 hours a day.
Required Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree or equivalent from a technical school preferred with four (4) years or more related experience or training in plant/facilities operations, preferably in a hospital/educational/residential care facility.
- Knowledge of Joint Commission accreditation, federal and state laws and regulations, and state organization licensure/certification standards, especially relevant to a behavioral health care setting.
- Data collection and analysis, computer proficiency, and excellent written and verbal communication skills.
- Ability to travel.
- Skilled and knowledgeable in maintenance, including HVAC, plumbing, painting, etc., and willingness to be hands-on when necessary.
- Excellent supervisory, planning, and organizational skills.
