Facilities Operating Engineer
About the role
The Facilities Operating Engineer will operate high pressure steam fire tube boilers, steam turbine, and auxiliary equipment with minimum supervision.
Responsibilities
- Operate high-pressure boilers, steam turbines, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, auxiliary machinery, and building management systems.
- Work shifts from 7PM to 7AM, every other Friday, Saturday, Sunday off during the power plant's operation (Late September-Early June).
- Work four 10-hour days, weekends off, and “on-call” status and overtime as required when the power plant is shut down for maintenance.
- Report to work and/or remain on duty during regular work hours or as designated by supervisor during emergencies and/or extreme weather conditions.
Requirements
- A Third Class Engineers license or higher issued by the Commonwealth of Massachusetts Department of Public Safety.
Qualifications
Experience operating high-pressure boilers, steam turbines, diesel engines, electrical distribution equipment, auxiliary machinery, and building management systems is required.

Pay
Salary is commensurate with experience.
Schedule

Supervisor will inform the employee when the functions are essential.
