Facilities Manager (Contracting & Maintenance Execution)

About the role

The Kansas City National Security Campus (KCNSC), managed and operated by Honeywell Federal Manufacturing & Technologies, is a premier advanced manufacturing facility supporting the safety, security, reliability, and effectiveness of the U.S. nuclear deterrent. The role involves managing engineering projects and programs, leading complex initiatives, and interfacing with various stakeholders.

Responsibilities

• Negotiates, evaluates, leads, directs, influences, determines, and executes engineering, technical knowledge, and program project management activities to manage one or more significant, complex program or components.
• Leads multiple aspects of financial planning, monitoring, reporting, scheduling, network analysis, and preparation of technical/schedule information required for program/project planning.
• Performs primary, first point of contact, technical, administrative, and logistical liaison role with company, Department of Energy, design agencies, laboratories, integrated contractors, and other government agencies for one or more key weapons, growth, and/or business process development/execution programs.
• Forecasts manpower requirements, determines priority of work, and assigns resources to complete the task.
• Captures customer requirements, interprets, negotiates, and provides technical guidance, project management, consultative services, and innovative solutions on highly complex Facilities/Utilities Engineering activities.
• Represents senior program manager as delegated for some management responsibilities and directs Facilities/Utilities engineering, technical, drafting, and administrative staff engaged in various construction, rearrangement, or operational activities on major projects or systems.
• Reviews and evaluates progress on design and construction projects, architectural and engineering capabilities, and construction subcontractor performance, performs quality assurance checks, and applies corrective action or proposes revised procedures to meet or redefine project objectives.
• Recommends and coordinates changes in designs and specifications.
• Develops and maintains liaison with purchasing, construction contractors, and initiating department.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field
• 7+ years of experience in Facilities/Utilities Engineering
• Ability to travel up to 5%
• U.S. Citizenship
• Ability to work on-site as directed by management and as determined by the needs of the business
• Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) security clearance

Qualifications

• Expertise in integrating multiple, complex business and technical/engineering processes
• Proven excellence in effective communication, interactive presentations, and negotiation skills
• Ability to routinely represent program management and company to stakeholders
• PMI certification preferred
• EIPM and IPDS experience preferred
