About the role
Bowhead is seeking a Facilities Operations Specialist to work with other team members engaged in facility maintenance and property management functions, including monitoring painting projects, structural repairs, woodwork, and furnishings of buildings.
Responsibilities
- Monitor buildings for breakdowns of utility systems, such as electrical wiring and controls, heating and ventilating systems
- Operate and maintain waterworks system, ensuring adequate water supply for human consumption, industrial, or agricultural use
- Set up, operate, and monitor devices for acquisition and analysis of data
- Install, service, and repair mechanical equipment
- Requisition tools, equipment, and supplies
- Perform inspections of completed work for conformance to blueprints, specifications, and standards
- Inspect properties and schedule routine or preventive maintenance for mechanical, electrical, and plumbing systems
- Work with the NNWCDD Safety office and Department safety manager to perform occupational safety and health inspections of all assigned buildings
- Develop logistics plans for distribution of goods and supplies
- Identify, prioritize, and assess assets and infrastructures
- Maintain an active status tracking spreadsheet on all projects and repairs utilizing SharePoint and Teams
- Conduct distribution and network studies, monitor inventory and analyze requirements in order to develop strategies to achieve desired delivery times
- Maintain a general inventory of over 5,300 assets throughout multiple buildings within the Department
- Navigate ERP database to complete 1149 and warehouse movement forms
- Perform other duties as assigned
Qualifications
- One to three (1-3) years combined experience in military logistics, procurement and/or warehouse operations
- Demonstrated experience with Government facilities management, maintaining database systems, and with logistics operations
- Intermediate to advanced level skills in Microsoft Office software suite - Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, SharePoint
- Requires the ability to communicate effectively with all levels of employees and outside contacts
- Knowledge in building maintenance and sustainment
- Strong interpersonal skills and good judgment with the ability to work alone or as part of a team
- Knowledge of DRMO process, General Equipment Inventory, warehouse processing (OM&S) - these are Dahlgren specific and can be learned
- Driver's license required with clean driving record
Physical demands
- Must be able to lift up to 50 pounds
- Must be able to stand and walk for prolonged amounts of time
- Must be able to twist, bend and squat periodically
Security clearance
Must currently hold a security clearance at the Secret level. US Citizenship is a requirement for Secret clearance at this location.
