Facilities Management Bench Director - Traveling Position

Job Summary

Working as an FM Bench Director, you are responsible for planning, organizing, and controlling functions and activities of the maintenance department. Working as an Interim Bench Director, you will travel to different facilities across the Midwest, East Coast and Southeast United States. You must live in one of these areas and be open to 100% travel, working a 10 day on; 4 day off schedule.

Key Responsibilities

• Reviews and evaluates existing programs, services, policies and procedures
• Makes sure the flow and quality of work are completed on time and adhere to facility standards and regulations using computerized programs for preventive and corrective maintenance, construction projects, financial management, and energy controls
• Manages and ensures regulatory compliance with the Joint Commission, State Health Department, EPA, DEP, ADA, UST, and other regulatory agencies
• Provides guidance, training and motivation to staff
• Sets up and monitors work performance and prepares performance evaluations for personnel

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or equivalent related experience preferred
• Minimum of 5 years hospital engineering maintenance experience at Director or Assistant Director level required
• Experience in hospital project and construction management preferred
• Must have working knowledge of the Joint Commission, NFPA and other healthcare regulatory agencies
