Facilities & Maintenance Technician (Part-Time)

Primary Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve work orders received through the school work order system.
• Address needs accordingly for snow/salt conditions in winter to ensure ample pathways and sidewalks are cleared between building entrances and the streets.
• Address needs of landscaping and grounds’ appearance taking regular action to maintain positive, clean, and orderly appearance. This includes trash and gum removal.
• Perform basic repairs to ensure functional furniture and equipment throughout school. This includes performing repair tasks such as carpentry, painting, plumbing, electrical, lighting, HVAC and use of power tools.
• Support arranging and completing set-up and takedown for special events.
• Receive and distribute all deliveries to school.
• Perform daily maintenance tasks according to plan with sensitivity to school schedule and usage.
• Support snow/salt application in winter to ensure pathways and sidewalks are cleared between building entrances and streets.

Qualifications

• Maintain a strong service-oriented attitude.
• 1-2 years of experience in facilities and/or property management, worked in a school environment a plus.
• Basic abilities in repair skills (carpentry, painting, basic plumbing, electrical).
• Strong organization, time management, and task prioritization skills.
• Ability to coordinate efforts among individuals and work collaboratively with others.
• Strong communication skills with ability to communicate with faculty, staff, parents, and others.
• Ability to read, speak, and understand English fluently.
• Must have a valid state driver's license.
• Willing and able to complete and pass background and alcohol / drug tests.
• Ability to drive 10-passenger van is a plus.
• Ability to climb ladders and work on high lifts occasionally.
• Ability to use diplomacy, professionalism, and discretion in your behavior with internal and external constituencies.
• Basic computer skills.

• Willingness to participate in the school’s Faith Formation program for new employees.
• Physical ability to perform manual labor and lifting up to 50lbs.
• Experience in a school setting a plus.
