Facilities Maintenance Technician Intern

Responsibilities
- Support the maintenance and operation of facility, machine shop, and testing laboratories.
- Conduct machine inspections, clean equipment, lubricate machinery, complete maintenance checklists, document findings, and identify conditions requiring corrective action or escalation.
- Maintain accurate maintenance records, inspection reports, equipment logs, and work order documentation in Jira.
- Create, update, and close work orders in Jira and other maintenance tracking systems.
- Coordinate preventative maintenance schedules and assist with tracking equipment service intervals.
- Schedule meetings and site visits with external vendors and contractors for specialized maintenance, repairs, and facility improvement projects.
- Support vendor management activities, including obtaining quotes, coordinating work schedules, and verifying completion of contracted services.
- Monitor equipment condition and notify management when replacement parts, supplies, or outside services are required.
- Maintain tools, equipment, and workspaces in a clean, organized, and safe condition.
- Follow all workplace health, safety, and environmental policies and procedures.
- Collaborate with engineering, laboratory, and operations personnel to support facility and equipment readiness.
Requirements
- Currently enrolled in an Associate's program or higher from an accredited college/university OR recently graduated within 1 year of the position start date.
- Maintenance knowledge and practical experience performing routine preventative maintenance activities.
- Solid organizational skills.
- Interpersonal skills and ability to work in a team environment.

Skills
Hands-on experience maintaining industrial, laboratory, and machine shop equipment
Exposure to preventative maintenance planning and asset management practices

Pay
Salary placement is determined by your anticipated graduation year and ranges between $21 - $29 per hour.
