Facilities Maintenance Technician – Grounds & Campus Maintenance

About the Role

We are seeking a reliable and hardworking Facilities Maintenance Technician to support groundskeeping, outdoor maintenance, and campus operations at a well-established organization in Staatsburg, NY. This role is responsible for helping maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming environment across campus facilities and outdoor spaces. The ideal candidate enjoys hands-on work, takes pride in maintaining attractive grounds, and is comfortable working outdoors throughout the year.

Responsibilities

• Perform groundskeeping and general campus maintenance duties
• Maintain walkways, outdoor common areas, and facility grounds to ensure safety and accessibility
• Complete assigned maintenance work orders efficiently and professionally
• Operate lawn equipment, power tools, and maintenance equipment safely and effectively
• Assist with landscaping, debris removal, and property upkeep projects
• Support seasonal maintenance activities, including snow and ice removal and storm cleanup
• Perform basic repairs and preventative maintenance as needed
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment
• Work collaboratively with the facilities team to support campus operations

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED required
• Previous experience in groundskeeping, landscaping, facilities maintenance, property maintenance, construction, or a related field preferred
• Experience operating lawn equipment, tractors, snow removal equipment, power tools, or similar machinery preferred
• Basic knowledge of maintenance and repair techniques is a plus
• Strong work ethic and ability to work independently or as part of a team
• Good communication and organizational skills
• Valid driver's license preferred

Physical Requirements

• Ability to lift, carry, push, and pull equipment and materials
• Comfortable working in varying indoor and outdoor weather conditions
• Ability to stand, walk, bend, and perform physically demanding tasks throughout the shift
• Capable of safely operating maintenance equipment and tools
