About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician is responsible for performing routine maintenance, repairs, and upkeep of buildings, grounds, and equipment to ensure a safe, clean, and functional environment. This role focuses on general maintenance and mechanical tasks and does not require an electrical background.

Responsibilities

  • Perform routine building maintenance, including basic repairs to walls, floors, ceilings, doors, locks, and fixtures
  • Conduct preventative maintenance on facilities, tools, and equipment
  • Complete minor plumbing tasks such as fixing leaks, replacing fixtures, and clearing drains
  • Maintain building exterior and grounds, including light landscaping, snow removal, and trash disposal (as applicable)
  • Respond to maintenance requests in a timely and professional manner
  • Aid with move-ins, move-outs, and workspace reconfigurations
  • Monitor building conditions and report larger repair needs or safety concerns
  • Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and tools
  • Follow safety procedures and company policies at all times

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • 1–3 years of experience in facilities maintenance, building maintenance, or a related field (or equivalent hands-on experience)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and general repair skills
  • Ability to operate hand tools and basic power tools safely
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and work independently
  • Good communication and customer service skills
  • Ability to lift 50lbs and perform physical tasks such as bending, climbing, and standing for extended periods
  • Familiarity with basic plumbing, carpentry, painting, and HVAC support tasks
  • OSHA safety training or similar certifications (preferred but not required)
