ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Report to scheduled shifts consistently and on time.
- Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
- Carry out facility inspections and perform routine maintenance and repair tasks.
- Aid in the general operation of facility maintenance functions.
- Utilize common hand and power tools to complete maintenance work safely and efficiently.
- Support building safety by assisting during emergency evacuations, disasters, and recovery or restoration efforts.
- Maintain a professional and respectful environment with clients, families, guardians, coworkers, supervisors, and community members.
- Demonstrate fairness, consistency, attentiveness, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model in the workplace.
- Maintain confidentiality regarding client and organizational information.
- Promote clear, open, and effective communication across teams.
- Advocate for the rights and well-being of clients.
- Attend required meetings, training sessions, and in-service programs to maintain and improve job knowledge and skills.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.
QUALIFICATIONS
- Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience in facility maintenance or related field preferred.
- Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Knowledge of modern methods used in routine building and facility maintenance; experience using common hand and power tools; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; ability to maintain positive interactions with clients, families, coworkers, supervisors, and community members.
- Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing; regular use of hands to operate tools and equipment; ability to reach, climb, balance, bend, squat, and kneel; ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 75 pounds; ability to operate a motor vehicle as required; ability to work outdoors for extended periods; work environment noise level is typically moderate.
