ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Report to scheduled shifts consistently and on time.
  • Follow all organizational policies, procedures, and safety guidelines.
  • Carry out facility inspections and perform routine maintenance and repair tasks.
  • Aid in the general operation of facility maintenance functions.
  • Utilize common hand and power tools to complete maintenance work safely and efficiently.
  • Support building safety by assisting during emergency evacuations, disasters, and recovery or restoration efforts.
  • Maintain a professional and respectful environment with clients, families, guardians, coworkers, supervisors, and community members.
  • Demonstrate fairness, consistency, attentiveness, and professionalism, serving as a positive role model in the workplace.
  • Maintain confidentiality regarding client and organizational information.
  • Promote clear, open, and effective communication across teams.
  • Advocate for the rights and well-being of clients.
  • Attend required meetings, training sessions, and in-service programs to maintain and improve job knowledge and skills.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor.

QUALIFICATIONS

  • Education and Experience Requirements: High School Diploma or GED required. Previous experience in facility maintenance or related field preferred.
  • Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities Requirements: Knowledge of modern methods used in routine building and facility maintenance; experience using common hand and power tools; strong verbal and written communication skills; excellent interpersonal and organizational skills; ability to effectively manage time and prioritize tasks; ability to work both independently and as part of a team; valid driver’s license and reliable transportation required; ability to maintain positive interactions with clients, families, coworkers, supervisors, and community members.
  • Physical Demands: Frequent standing, walking, sitting, talking, and hearing; regular use of hands to operate tools and equipment; ability to reach, climb, balance, bend, squat, and kneel; ability to push, pull, lift, or carry up to 75 pounds; ability to operate a motor vehicle as required; ability to work outdoors for extended periods; work environment noise level is typically moderate.
