About the role

The Facilities Maintenance Technician supports the daily operation and reliability of production and facility equipment used in brazing, plating, sputtering, cleanroom, and inspection processes. This hands-on role performs preventive maintenance, basic repairs, troubleshooting, documentation, and assists with equipment installations and facility upgrades.

Responsibilities

  • Perform and own routine preventive maintenance on production equipment, including ovens, plating lines, vacuum furnaces, sputtering systems, leak testers, XRF units, profilometers, and other process tools.
  • Diagnose and repair mechanical, electrical, and facility-related issues at a technician level.
  • Support daily equipment checks, start-ups, shutdowns, and monitoring activities.
  • Maintain accurate documentation for all maintenance work, including logs, checklists, work orders, and parts usage.
  • Assist with equipment installations, facility upgrades, and small infrastructure projects.
  • Help manage inventory of spare parts, consumables, and maintenance supplies.
  • Work with production, engineering, and quality to ensure equipment performs reliably for daily operations.
  • Follow proper handling procedures for chemicals, tools, and cleanroom materials.
  • Follow all company safety policies and maintain a clean, safe, and organized work environment.
  • Update preventive maintenance schedules and work instructions.

Requirements

  • High school diploma or GED.
  • 1–3 years of experience in equipment maintenance, facilities maintenance, manufacturing support, or related technical work.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, hand tools, and diagnostic methods.
  • Ability to read and follow work instructions, safety procedures, and equipment documentation.
  • Ability to read mechanical and electrical schematics.
  • Ability to work safely around chemicals, hot equipment, vacuum systems, and electrical components under supervision.
  • Strong communication skills and ability to work with cross-functional teams.
  • Basic computer skills for logging maintenance activities and reading equipment documentation.

Qualifications

  • Knowledge of basic electrical troubleshooting (low voltage, sensors, switches, wiring).
  • Familiarity with preventive maintenance systems or CMMS software.
  • HVAC, vacuum systems, or instrumentation experience a plus.
  • Forklift, scissor lift, or aerial lift certification (or ability to obtain).
  • Technical school or trade school experience.
  • Experience with hand-held metrology tools, microscopes, or inspection equipment useful.
