About the role
Perform routine janitorial and maintenance tasks to ensure the overall cleanliness and upkeep of all Hubbard House properties and grounds. Daily duties include fulfilling maintenance repair requests, conducting regular inspections, overseeing vendors, and partnering with external service providers.
Responsibilities
- Clean office/administration areas as scheduled, including mopping, vacuuming, dusting, and emptying trash.
- Perform light maintenance tasks such as changing bulbs, A/C filters, and other minor repairs.
- Maintain inventory of maintenance supplies and place orders with authorized vendors in keeping with Agency policy.
- Network with vendors, repair technicians, and service providers; accompany vendors when providing services to the facility.
- Coordinate, facilitate, and participate in special facility-related projects as assigned.
- Ensure proper maintenance of facility grounds and landscape.
- Wash, wax, and buff tile floors (excluding ceramic tile floors) in designated areas, including:
- Second-floor common areas and bedrooms.
- Designated daycare areas.
- Elevator floors.
- Lobbies, hallways, and common areas.
- Maintain and ensure required inspections of buildings, vehicles, and grounds are performed on schedule.
- Perform any other tasks as assigned by the supervisor.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED.
- Minimum one-year previous janitorial and/or general maintenance-related experience.
- Basic understanding of plumbing, A/C, electrical, and other building maintenance practices and tools.
- Experience in sexual assault or domestic violence programs is a plus.
- Must be able to read, write, and speak English; bilingual capabilities are a plus.
- If required for the position:
- A valid driver’s license and dependable transportation.
- Maintained vehicle insurance.
- Must meet eligibility requirements for Hubbard House, Inc. vehicle insurance coverage.
- Must successfully clear background screening:
- Level-2 background screening (criminal background check through DCF, FDLE, and the National Sex Offender Registry).
- Motor vehicle report (MVR) through the DMV.
- Drug, alcohol, and TB screening.
- Must be able to produce proof of eligibility to work in the United States (E-Verify).
Schedule
Full-time, non-exempt position. Work schedule will be determined to best suit the needs of the Agency.
