About the role
The Galt House Hotel is seeking a Facilities Maintenance Technician to join our 1st Shift (8 AM- 4 PM) team.
Responsibilities
- Complete maintenance request work orders from all departments on a timely basis
- Perform preventive maintenance for all building equipment and rooms
- Diagnose and repair buildings and equipment on property
- Change light bulbs, switch plate covers, replace filters, and switch out appliances in guest rooms
- Perform preventative maintenance as assigned
- Troubleshoot maintenance calls and perform basic repairs or reach out for assistance when issues are beyond scope of one's capabilities
- Report any unusual occurrences and/or damage observed while on duty
- Maintain cleanliness, sanitation, and organization of assigned work areas
- Receive daily work assignments from Chief Engineer/Supervisor and review priorities and special projects
- Resolve guest complaints, ensuring guest satisfaction
- Work cohesively with co-workers as part of a team
- Interpret manufacturer's literature for installation, preparation, use and upkeep of various materials and products used throughout the property
- Be well organized and follow instructions
- Work independently on recurring projects
Requirements
- High School Diploma or Equivalent
- Excellent communication skills
- Ability to work well independently and in a team environment
- Mechanically inclined and able to be trained
- Working knowledge of all electrical supplies and equipment
- Knowledge of proper chemical handling and disposal
- Working knowledge of:
- Health codes
- Electrical codes
- National/local fire codes
- Local mechanical codes
- Blue prints and wiring schematics
- Use equipment only as intended
- Anticipate guests’ needs, respond promptly, and acknowledge all guests, regardless of time of day
- Compute math calculations
- Satisfactorily communicate with guests, management, and co-workers to their understanding
- Competent at working independently on recurring projects
Qualifications
