About the role

As the Beach Ford/Barton Ford Facilities Maintenance Technician, you will support the dealerships through fulfilling management-assigned facility maintenance tasking and duties.

Responsibilities

  • Provide fast, efficient, friendly, and high-quality facility maintenance service for Beach Ford/Barton Ford dealerships and related businesses as directed by management.
  • Diagnose problems and perform general repair and services in all maintenance-related disciplines, including but not limited to, HVAC, electrical, mechanics, plumbing, painting, carpentry, drywall repair, finish work, general cleaning, appliance maintenance, exterior structure maintenance, exterior lighting, exterior grounds, etc.
  • Perform Building and Grounds general maintenance
  • Ensure workplace safety through the participation of all applicable safety rules and requirements (OSHA/State, Local, etc.).
  • Ensure compliance with applicable codes, requisitions, and company directives as relates to building operations
  • Participate in emergency on-call shifts and after-hours maintenance (Weekend work included).
  • Prioritize work orders through urgent requests and established dealership down times in order to minimize inconvenience to Beach Ford/Barton Ford operations and staff
  • Effective customer service-friendly interaction with Beach Ford/Barton Ford management and staff is required
  • Maintain on-going communication with Beach Ford/Barton Ford management and staff on all tasks
  • Complete any and all assigned preventative maintenance procedures and participate in OSHA/Safety programs within the buildings through awareness in every day job functions
  • Demonstrated ability to use hand tools of the trades related to the position
  • Respond to all emergency situations quickly (fire, evacuation, equipment failure, etc.)
  • Properly request the purchase of parts and supplies from Purchasing
  • Any other duties, tasks, or projects as assigned by Beach Ford/Barton Ford management

Qualifications

Heavy Commercial HVAC experience, training, background, and certification are required. At least three years of related experience and/or training in other areas such as, but not limited to, plumbing, carpentry, drywall repair, appliance repair, and electrical. Previous facility maintenance experience is preferred.

  • Ability to read and comprehend instructions and information.
  • Self-motivated and able to work independently under the supervision of Beach Ford/Barton Ford management.
  • General maintenance and mechanical skills.
  • Excellent customer service skills
  • High School Diploma, GED, or equitable on-the-job experience
  • Trade School Certification in any/all of the related fields a plus
  • Maintain valid driver's license and MVR within company policy requirements.

Physical Requirements

Work performed in all settings related to facility maintenance. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is exposed to weather conditions precedent at that time. Will have exposure to automotive mechanical shop environment such as noise, dust, odors, and fumes, chemicals, and adhesives.

  • Required to lift up to a minimum of 50 lbs
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, talk, hear, use hands and fingers, handle or operate objects, tools, or controls.
  • Occasionally required to stoop, kneel, lay down, stretch out, and crouch.
  • Required vision includes close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, and the ability to adjust focus.
  • Regularly required to sit, stand, bend, reach, and move about facilities.
  • Required to operate equipment and move vehicles in a safe manner at all times.

Pay and Schedule

The pay for this position is $20.00 - $25.00 per hour. The schedule is Monday to Friday, day shift, 8-hour shift, and on-call.
