Job Summary

To perform and assist with facility maintenance activities as assigned including but not limited to maintenance functions for buildings, equipment, and grounds.

Job Responsibilities

  • Ensure equipment and systems operate efficiently and safely
  • Understand and comply with safety management, EPA and OSHA policies, procedures, and programs
  • Understand and use data from Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS) to complete proper and timely preventative maintenance, repairs, and record keeping as required
  • Avoid paperwork errors and ensure accuracy, completion on time, and neatness
  • Interact effectively and respectfully even in difficult situations
  • Work with little direction and assist others
  • Display a conscious concern for personal and team member safety by assisting to provide the safest workplace possible
  • Report unsafe equipment, conditions, and behaviors to direct supervisor immediately
  • Take immediate action to correct safety issues
  • Identify and suggest possible equipment and/or safety improvements
  • Operate Material Handling Equipment (MHE) as required by position or as assigned by function
  • Follow Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP) policies and procedures
  • Support sanitation by keeping areas clean and neat while working and at end of shift (if applicable and properly trained/certified)
  • Operate forklifts, reach trucks, and HiLo safely and accurately
  • Utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately
  • Perform pre-shift stretching routine
  • Pass respirator fit test, wear respirator and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) if required
  • Work independently lifting up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Work in a noisy warehouse environment
  • Handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
  • Utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)

Experience and Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED
  • College coursework, continuing technical education, or comparable business experience preferred
  • Warehouse experience preferred
  • Experience operating Material Handling Equipment preferred
  • Ability to remain calm and focused while prioritizing requests from multiple sources
  • Ability to use basic hand tools
  • Basic knowledge of general construction, plumbing, electric, and hydraulic systems
  • Accuracy and attention to detail
  • Able to read, write, speak, and understand English
  • Able to read and understand label data
  • Able to read small print on packaging and paperwork, with or without corrective lenses
  • Able to take directions using the headset selection system (such as VoCollect)
  • Able to accommodate flexible schedules to meet the needs of the customer to include nights, weekends, and holidays

Environmental Job Conditions

  • Independently lift up to 50 lbs frequently and 100 lbs occasionally
  • Must be able to respond and perform physical demands of weather emergencies
  • Must be able to tolerate and work in confined space(s)
  • Must perform pre-shift stretching routine
  • Must be able to pass respirator fit test, wear respirator and Self-Contained Breathing Apparatus (SCBA) if required
  • Able to sit, stand, walk, bend, squat on a frequent to continual basis in a refrigerated warehouse environment
  • Able to grasp, reach, push or pull (such as boxes of product, or a hand truck) on a frequent basis
  • Able to utilize good hand-eye coordination and depth perception to operate forklift, reach truck, and HiLo safely and accurately
  • Able to step up onto and down from equipment as required by task (such as forklift, reach truck, etc.)
  • Able to work at elevated heights while wearing PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as fall protection harnesses)
  • Able to reach above shoulder level frequently
  • Able to adjust to fluctuating temperatures and withstand freezing temperatures as low as -20 degrees Fahrenheit
  • Able to work in a noisy warehouse environment
  • Able to wear and communicate through headsets for long periods of time as required by location
  • Able to work while wearing appropriate PPE (Personal Protective Equipment) for the job (such as steel-toed protective footwear, harness, safety glasses, hard hat, gloves, insulated clothing, etc.)
  • Able to handle and physically be near products which may contain food allergens (such as fish, shellfish, peanuts, etc.)
  • Able to utilize equipment for the job safely and accurately after training (such as computer, handheld tracker, copiers, scanners, printers, radio headsets, forklift, reach truck, etc.)

Pay
