Facilities Maintenance Supervisor - St. Jerome Catholic Church - Hyattsville Maryland

Safety & Compliance

• Manage all fire inspections and maintain safety checklists for the school and child center.

Daily Inspections

• Conduct daily walkthroughs of all boilers and roofing systems to ensure operational safety and prevent leaks/failures.

HVAC Management

• Troubleshoot, service, and coordinate repairs for HVAC systems across the campus.

Grounds & Operations

• Oversee lawn care/mowing and snow removal contractors.
• Grounds work as needed to maintain the campus.

Staff Leadership

• Supervise internal maintenance staff and manage all outside contractors, ensuring work is completed safely and on schedule.

Qualifications

• Extensive experience in facility maintenance with at least 3 years in a maintenance role.
• HVAC Expertise: Experience maintaining and troubleshooting HVAC systems (Certification preferred).
• Technical Skills: Proficiency in boiler operation, carpentry, plumbing, and electrical work.
• Regulatory Knowledge: Familiarity with fire codes and safety regulations for educational/childcare facilities.
• Communication: Ability to work professionally with parish leadership, school staff, and the Archdiocese.
• Licensing: Valid driver’s license and clean driving record.

Physical Demands

• Ability to lift/move up to 50 pounds and climb ladders to perform roof inspections.
• Ability to work in various environments, including mechanical rooms, crawl spaces, and outdoors in all weather conditions.

Pay & Schedule

• The salary is $60,000 to $65,000.
• The schedule is full time Monday- Friday 6:30am to 3:00pm.
