Facilities Maintenance Supervisor

About the role

This position manages facility and equipment maintenance to ensure safety and operational efficiency.

Responsibilities

• Conduct inspections to ensure compliance with safety, environmental, and regulatory standards such as OSHA and EPA.
• Develop and oversee preventive maintenance programs, maintaining accurate records in relevant software.
• Coordinate with operations and engineering teams on projects, expansions, and construction.
• Maintain a safe, clean, and secure work environment, promoting safety awareness and addressing issues promptly.
• Manage department P&L, including budgeting, cost controls, and equipment utilization, identifying opportunities for efficiency and cost savings.
• Develop policies and procedures to enhance operational performance and regulatory compliance.
• Handle labor relations, including contract negotiations, managing union matters, and resolving grievances.
• Supervise staffing, training, performance management, and career development of maintenance staff.
• Stay informed on industry trends and legal regulations to recommend process improvements.

Qualifications

• Associate or Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent experience.
• Minimum five years of facility maintenance experience, with at least two years in supervisory roles.
• Knowledge of industrial equipment, refrigeration, HVAC, and environmental regulations.
• Experience with OSHA/EPA standards, and refrigeration certifications preferred.
• Strong leadership, communication, project management, and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and maintenance management software; willingness to travel as needed.

Requirements

• Ability to lift up to 75 pounds, work in warehouse environments with varying temperatures and noise levels, and perform physical tasks such as walking, standing, crouching, and reaching.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and overtime is necessary.
