Facilities Maintenance Project Engineer
About the role
A Facilities Maintenance Project Engineer is responsible for overseeing the planning, execution, and completion of maintenance projects that ensure the safety, efficiency, and longevity of a facility’s infrastructure. This role blends project management skills with deep knowledge of building systems and maintenance procedures.
Responsibilities
- Plan and manage maintenance projects: Develop detailed project plans, set goals, and ensure projects are completed on time, within budget, and to quality standards.
- Oversee maintenance operations: Coordinate building maintenance, upgrades, and repairs; manage HVAC, electrical, plumbing, and other systems.
- Develop and implement procedures: Create preventive maintenance programs, inspection schedules, and repair protocols.
- Budget and cost control: Manage department budgets, forecast expenses, and allocate resources for maintenance, repairs, and upgrades.
- Team leadership: Supervise and train maintenance staff; assign tasks, monitor performance, and ensure compliance with safety and operational standards.
- Vendor and contractor management: Negotiate service contracts, manage relationships with external providers, and ensure compliance with project requirements.
- Compliance and safety: Enforce health, safety, and environmental regulations; ensure all work meets building codes and accessibility standards.
- Recordkeeping: Maintain accurate logs of inspections, repairs, maintenance schedules, and project documentation.
- Emergency response: Address urgent issues promptly to minimize downtime and risk.
- Sustainability initiatives: Lead energy conservation and green building practices to reduce costs and environmental impact.
Qualifications
- Strong project management experience (PMP, PMI-ACP, or similar certifications preferred)
- Knowledge of construction, renovation, and facility management processes.
- Proficiency in project management software and documentation tools.
- Ability to coordinate with architects, engineers, contractors, and internal departments.
- Problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication and leadership abilities.
Skills

Pay
Compensation for roles at TTM Technologies varies depending on a wide array of factors including but not limited to the specific office location, role, skill set and level of experience. As required by local law, TTM provides a reasonable range of compensation for roles that may be hired in New York, California and Colorado. For California-based roles, compensation ranges are based upon specific physical locations.
Schedule
Overtime, weekend, and on-call availability is required.
Essential Knowledge and Skills
- Knowledge and experience in applying general maintenance practices, mechanical aptitude, and ability to correctly and safely use manual and power tools
- Able to lift and carry 50 lbs.
- Exceptional attention-to-detail and capable of reading and following technical/construction instructions, operation manuals, equipment install specifications, schematics, and diagrams.
- Ability to read and interpret wiring diagrams, P& IDs, and technical as-built will be a plus
- General computer skills and ability to complete electronic work orders, enter data into systems, and send emails
- Able to read, write, and communicate in English to the degree necessary to perform the job.
- Solution-focused mindset; recommend and implement improvements to processes increasing efficiency and see projects through to completion
- Mental ability sufficient to add, subtract, multiply, divide, and calculate averages
- To work 9-10 hour days, standing for most of the shift
- Valid driver’s license and clean driving record; ability to safely drive a box truck, van, or company car
Education and Experience
- Education: High school diploma or equivalent
- Preferred Experience: 12 years of facility maintenance equipment preferred. Previous work experience using trade skills such as carpentry, electrical, mechanical, electronics, HVAC, plumbing, and/or welding preferred.
