Facilities Maintenance Mechanic / Millwright

About the Role

Siltronic is a leading manufacturer of hyper-pure silicon wafers, serving the global semiconductor industry. We are seeking a Facilities Maintenance Mechanic with millwright and mechanic experience to join our team. This role is responsible for installation, diagnosis, repair, and implementation of the Preventative Maintenance Program to minimize production downtime for mechanical, associated internal building utilities, and related systems.

Responsibilities

• Utilize skills in millwright, welding, to install, modify, assemble, and maintain equipment and associated supply systems.
• Connect, route, and assemble internal/external systems and components including gearboxes, hydraulic, pneumatic, HVAC, programmable logic controls, and chemical systems.
• Analyze equipment or systems to determine malfunctions and decide on proper repair actions.
• Complete repairs by removing, repairing, and replacing necessary components.
• Discuss findings with area operators, leadership, engineers, and technicians to find immediate and long-term solutions.
• Maintain records of repairs, calibrations, tests, preventative maintenance, spare parts, and procedures.
• Maintain proficiency in millwright, machine shop, hydraulics, pneumatics, pipe fitting, machining, welding, and programmable logic systems.
• Ensure effective housekeeping in work and shop areas.
• Observe all safety rules and regulations.
• Acquire and maintain necessary State/Federal licenses/certificates for specific job tasks.
• Participate in and complete required training.
• Train other technicians and new employees as needed.
• Assist in process and equipment improvement, dependability, and productivity.
• Demonstrate leadership abilities as needed and in accordance with company policies.

Qualifications

• Minimum of an Associate's degree in a technical field or equivalent technical certificates.
• Two years of experience as a Maintenance Technician III within the company, or minimum of 7 years as a Maintenance Technician in a related industry.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, instructions, blueprints, and maintenance manuals.
• Proficiency in writing routine reports and correspondence.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills with internal and external customers.
• Ability to interpret and draw engineering drawings and sketches.
• Proficiency in basic math, algebra, geometry, and standard engineering formulas.
• Proficiency with computer software such as Word, Excel, and SAP.

Physical Requirements

• Ability to sit, stand, walk, bend, twist, crouch, kneel, and climb for various periods.
• Lift/carry/push/pull up to 50 pounds.
• Continuously stand and walk throughout the shift.
• Work near moving mechanical parts and exposure to electrical shock and vibration.
• Occasional exposure to toxic, acidic, or caustic chemicals, wet/humid conditions, and moderate to high noise levels.
• Specific vision abilities: close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
