Responsibilities

  • Maintain assigned equipment in proper working order by performing preventive and corrective maintenance as assigned.
  • Possess and maintain the knowledge and ability to repair, design, adjust, or modify assigned mechanical equipment or structural components as needed to carry on daily business of plant operation.
  • Perform oversight of maintenance or project work being performed by outside service vendors or contractors as assigned.
  • Repair, design, adjust, or modify assigned equipment, facilities, and associated components necessary to support production in a modern stamping plant.
  • Thorough working knowledge of plant electrical distribution system, with experience in installation and troubleshooting electrical components.
  • Must be proficient in basic welding, use of shop equipment, piping, and sheet metal fabrication.
  • Able to perform routine plumbing activities.
  • Able to perform basic carpentry.
  • Knowledge and ability to comprehend and complete projects as assigned by use of technical, physical, or mental attributes, as needed.
  • Able to support production while maintaining the facility and plant structure in acceptable condition within the bounds of safety.
  • Responsible for good housekeeping of work area and equipment.
  • May be given certain authority within job scope by Supervisor or Manager.
  • Each employee has the authority to initiate action to prevent a violation of the Tenneco Integrity Policy.
  • Proper identification, disposition, and handling of hazardous waste.
  • All employees will abide by the plant’s safety policy, comply with the legal and other requirements and operational controls established, work toward achieving established objectives and targets, and conform to procedures consistent with the ISO 14001 standard.
  • Handle/store hazardous waste in a compliant manner with all federal, state, and local regulations.

Qualifications

  • High school diploma or G.E.D.
  • Technical school training or equivalent required (to include electronic and PLC’s).
  • Five or more years experience in maintenance required (to include minimum of two years experience in design, wiring, and troubleshooting of PLC’s).
  • Jobs with a wide variety of assignments to learn.
  • Able to read and interpret drawings, diagrams, schematics, prints, technical manuals, and manufacturer’s specifications a must.
