About the role
Jet Midwest is a full-service commercial aviation company specializing in aircraft, engines, and parts sales, maintenance, repair, and overhaul services. This position is based at the Kansas City International Airport area.
Responsibilities
- Maintain Jet Midwest facilities and equipment at a high level of operational readiness, safety, and comfort.
- Ensure internal customers receive top-notch support and assistance with maintenance tasks.
- Perform maintenance, preventive maintenance, and corrective maintenance on the facility, ground support equipment, and company tooling, safety equipment, building systems, and other areas as needed/assigned.
- Operate motorized lift equipment such as scissor lift, forklift, aerial lift etc. to accomplish work tasks as required.
- Work from ladders, scaffolds, and roofs, including some after-hours support on evenings and weekends.
- Take ownership of daily tasks and ensure internal customers receive top-notch support and assistance with maintenance tasks, as assigned.
- Build relationships through direct contact with internal and external team members, vendor assistance and support, and regular interaction with team members at all levels of the organization.
Requirements
- 5-8 years of experience in commercial/industrial building maintenance, including vehicle maintenance (such as ground support equipment, automotive maintenance, etc).
- Demonstrated performance in diesel/gas/propane engine repairs, electrical diagnostic and repairs, forklifts, tow tractors, boom lifts, scissor lifts, golf carts, hydraulic system maintenance.
- High school diploma or equivalent.
Qualifications
- A high-energy personality and desire to learn and grow quickly.
- Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and communication skills.
- Comfortable self-directing or working as part of a team to ensure tasks are completed.
- Experience working in an older facility.
Skills
- Experience performing systems maintenance and troubleshooting on industrial equipment.
- Knowledge of aircraft 400Hz Generator (GPU) repairs, solid state GPU’s, transformers.
- Experience with hot work/soldering.
- Efficiency-focused, able to help build improvements in processes.
- Loves efficiency and can help build improvements in processes.
- Desires to dream about airplanes.
