Facilities Maintenance Full-Time

About the role

Part‑time Facilities Maintenance position at the Tennessee College of Applied Technology Northwest, located in Newbern.

Requirements

• Two years of full‑time maintenance experience in a variety of construction, maintenance, and industrial/commercial work.
• Knowledge of the materials, methods, and principles used in a variety of construction and maintenance jobs and projects.
• Knowledge of accepted construction methods to determine the cost of a particular job.
• Knowledge of occupational hazards and safety precautions.
• Ability to evaluate situations and make decisions.
• Ability to express ideas clearly, concisely, and convincingly.
• Ability to establish and maintain an effective working relationship with other employees.

Responsibilities

• Perform skilled maintenance tasks including electrical, plumbing, carpentry, and masonry as needed.
• Make on‑site inspections of jobs to determine materials and supplies actually used and to inspect quality of work.
• Order materials and supplies as needed for various jobs.
• Provide directions to helpers and less‑qualified staff.
• Confere with higher‑level supervisor concerning problems with work assignments or personnel.
• Establish and carry out a preventive maintenance program.
• Provide input to facilities operational budget.
• Perform custodial/janitorial work as needed.
• Perform other work as assigned.

Pay

Salary is in accordance with Tennessee Board of Regents guidelines and the TCAT Northwest Compensation Plan. Background checks are conducted on all full‑time and part‑time employees prior to hiring.
