About the role

A General Laborer for the Moab Uranium Mill Tailings Remedial Action (UMTRA) Project performs construction, maintenance, and janitorial tasks at the Moab and Crescent Junction sites.

Responsibilities

• Carry out routine and corrective repairs and services on site buildings, facilities, and equipment.
• Perform cleaning and decontamination activities.
• Conduct a thorough inspection of the tools and equipment assigned.
• Safely operate tools and equipment in different configurations as assigned.
• Complete all necessary paperwork as required by project procedures and federal, state, and local laws.
• Maintain adequate production in order to meet service schedules.

Requirements

• High School diploma or equivalent.
• 0-3 years of experience in construction, maintenance, and/or janitorial duties.
• Ability to clearly communicate professionally, both orally and in writing, and to maintain records related to the job.
• Motivated and willing to work as part of a team and perform multiple job functions.
• Possess the ability to execute tasks after receiving written or oral instructions.
• Ability to work a flexible schedule, including overtime, weekends, and night shifts, pending demand.

Qualifications

• Ability to qualify as a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) Radiation Worker II and complete Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) Hazardous Waste Operations and Emergency Response (HAZWOPER) worker qualification and pass a HAZWOPER/respirator user medical exam (preferred).
