About the Role

The Industrial Maintenance Technician is responsible for maintaining, troubleshooting, repairing, and improving industrial equipment, facility systems, and machinery to support safe, efficient, and reliable operations. This role performs routine, planned, and preventative maintenance; responds to equipment breakdowns; diagnoses mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic issues; and ensures repairs are completed accurately and in accordance with safety standards and business needs.

Additionally, this role serves as a subject matter expert and project lead for reviewing contractor plans, coordinating construction or repair work, and ensuring completed work meets company expectations, regulatory requirements, and operational standards.

Responsibilities

• Develop scope, plans, and manage work projects for the maintenance of building/facilities including HVAC, internal structural systems (dock doors, auto rollup doors, speed doors), roofing, driveways, parking lots, electrical, and plumbing
• Manage and execute preventative maintenance programs for pallet jacks, forklift equipment, dock leveling devices, and dock doors, utilizing approved vendors and performing basic maintenance
• Inspect plant facilities or review inspection reports to determine repairs, replacements, or improvements required
• Manage contract administration and construction supervision for various facilities maintenance projects to ensure compliance with specifications
• Carry out general maintenance, repair, or renovation and obtain bids for additional work from outside contractors
• Diagnose mechanical problems and determine corrective actions using blueprints, repair manuals, or parts catalogs
• Serve as a building emergency contact and respond to emergency services as needed
• Communicate emergency issues to the Operations Manager with urgency to resolve matters quickly
• Purchase building and maintenance supplies, machinery, and equipment as needed and approved by the Operations Manager

Requirements

• 3+ years of relevant experience at a commercial distribution or manufacturing facility with comparable responsibility in projects of similar size, scope, and complexity
• Experience in preventative equipment maintenance of pallet jacks and forklifts
• Any combination of education, training, and experience that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform essential job functions in a commercial building
• Ability to lift up to 50 pounds continually, above shoulder height and below the waist
• Demonstrated commitment to electrical safety, strong troubleshooting, decision-making, and problem-analysis skills, particularly in high-pressure situations
• Knowledge of ammonia cooler systems and Cal ARP programs
• Self-starter with the ability to work with a sense of urgency and maintain ongoing project deadlines
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills

Pay

$42.00 to $47.00 per hour, depending on experience. Includes a potential 90-day performance-based raise and yearly review with possible increases based on performance and tenure.
