Facilities HVAC Technician – Maintenance & Repair

About the role

To perform advanced repairs and maintenance on a variety of HVAC and Refrigeration equipment.

Responsibilities

• Diagnoses and troubleshoot complex HVAC and Refrigeration systems.
• Performs repairs and preventative maintenance tasks on a variety of HVAC and refrigeration equipment.
• Supports Level 1 technicians in repair and diagnostic operations.
• Affords assistance in optimizing HVAC control schedules for energy savings.
• Maintains refrigeration compliance records in collaboration with the EHS team.
• Communicates with vendors to coordinate the purchase of parts, equipment, and service needs.
• Contributes to updates and improvements in the preventative maintenance program.
• Coordination and execution of small to medium-scale Facilities HVAC projects when appropriate.
• Maintains monitoring and response to HVAC control alarms with urgency and accuracy.
• Ensures attention to detail – Ensures information is complete and accurate; follows up with others to ensure that agreements and commitments have been fulfilled.
• Builds strong internal customer relationships and delivers customer-centric solutions.
• Effectively manages time and resources so that individual work is completed efficiently.
• Provides timely guidance and feedback (both positive and constructive) to help others recognize strengths and development opportunities.
• Invites tough conversations.
• Maintains a high level of honesty, integrity and confidentiality with respect to company matters.

Requirements

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Certification/Degree in HVAC or equivalent training/work experience.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
• Ability to stand, remain stationary, and/or move about, and lift up to 40lbs for extended periods.
• Ability to perform repetitive physical tasks (bending, reaching, squatting, or otherwise positioning the body to maneuver in and around equipment, lifting and/or moving tools and materials).
• Basic understanding of Automated Logic Controls.
• Strong troubleshooting and mechanical aptitude.
• Effective time management and multitasking skills.

• 2–4 years of HVAC experience.

Benefits

Gentex offers a competitive compensation package, including a pay range for this position of $70,000 - $90,000.
