Facilities/Equipment Maintenance Technician
About the role
Participates in building equipment maintenance functions using carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other maintenance skills. Oversees contractors when performing preventive maintenance and/or corrective actions when necessary. Follows all safety and sanitation policies and procedures to ensure the elimination of fire and other safety hazards.
Performs daily inventory of tools and safety equipment, as well as custodial work in assigned areas. Conducts safety inspections of building equipment such as security systems and mechanical operations of the building and its systems. Assists administrative personnel in procurement procedures to obtain necessary parts and materials for maintenance and repairs to buildings and equipment.
Responsibilities
- Maintain building equipment using carpentry, electrical, plumbing, roofing, and other maintenance skills

Requirements
- Graduation from a standard four-year high school or GED, or completion of a four-year apprenticeship program, or two-year post-secondary technical school
- Experience in air-conditioning, heating, or refrigeration may substitute for required training on a year-for-year basis
- Four years of full-time or equivalent part-time paid experience in heating, cooling, ventilation, or mechanical/building trades (e.g., plumbing, electrical, carpentry, welding, masonry)
- Specific positions may require EPA certification as a certified technician for refrigerant recycling under the Clean Air Act
