Facilities Electrician III

Description

As part of a small, passionate and accomplished team of experts, you will be responsible for repairing, testing, constructing, activating and maintaining Electrical, COMM and Fire Detection System required to support the West Texas site. This is a hands-on position focused on electrical facility repair, construction, activation and preventive maintenance. Facilities include launch vehicle manufacturing, integration and test; launch Site, and launch command and control centers. This position will directly influence the history of space exploration and will require your dedicated commitment and detailed attention towards safe and repeatable spaceflight.

Responsibilities

• Knowledge of secondary electrical systems including performing additions or modifications on secondary circuits
• Repair, install, replace, and test electrical circuits, equipment, and appliances using appropriate tools and testing instruments
• Repairs and maintains motor control centers and programmable logic controls (600 volts and below)
• Installs and monitors performance of installed electrical equipment for hazards, adjustments, or replacement
• Perform work of lower level electricians
• Ensures proper care in the use and maintenance of equipment and supplies; promotes continuous improvement of workplace safety and environmental practices
• Perform preventive and corrective maintenance as directed by engineering
• Reads, employs, and updates electrical panel schedules
• Performs miscellaneous job-related duties as assigned
• Ability to continue support of Launch Site One electrical preventive and corrective maintenance including construction activities and to maintain functionality and reliability of electrical systems required for the daily operations of West Texas launch Site
• Ability to read blueprints

Qualifications

• Texas Journeyman State License
• 4 to 6 years of Experience as an electrician
• A high school diploma
• Completed electrician apprenticeship
• Proficiency with the National Electrical Code and local codes
• Valid driver’s license and clean driving record (CMV certification will be required when hired)
• Strong safety mindset and experience, including hands-on experience planning and conducting hazardous or critical operations
• Must be a U.S. citizen or national, U.S. permanent resident (current Green Card holder), or lawfully admitted into the U.S. as a refugee or granted asylum

Desired Experience

• Industrial facilities, defense or spacecraft manufacturing, or integration and test
