Facilities Electrical Technician
Purpose of the role
The Facilities Electrical Technician is a hands-on technical role responsible for providing electrical support for facilities infrastructure, utilities, and building systems across the JTI Leaf Services complexes. This role focuses on preventative and corrective maintenance of electrical systems supporting buildings, utilities, and facility equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations.
Main Areas of Responsibility
Facilities Electrical Maintenance - Provide preventative and corrective maintenance for facility electrical systems, including lighting, panels, wiring, building systems, and support equipment. Ensure completion of work orders in SAP, including documentation of labor, parts, and corrective actions.
Utilities & Infrastructure Support - Maintain and support electrical components of critical utilities, including Power distribution systems, HVAC electrical controls, Air compressors, boilers, and utility systems. Building Management Systems (BMS), where applicable. Ensure continuity of electrical supply to production, warehouses, and office areas.
Operational & Production Support - Provide electrical troubleshooting and emergency support during equipment or facility failures to minimize downtime and restore operations quickly. Collaborate with Maintenance, Processing, Quality, and EHS teams as needed.
Safety, Compliance & Inspections - Perform electrical safety inspections and support facility compliance programs. Assist with fire systems, emergency lighting, and safety-related electrical systems. Ensure adherence to OSHA, local codes, and company EHS standards. Promote safe work practices and proper use of PPE. Monitor contractors and colleagues for safe electrical practices and report risks.
Continuous Improvement & Facilities Support - Identify opportunities to improve system reliability, energy efficiency, and overall facility performance, including reducing downtime. Support energy monitoring, tracking, and reporting efforts, and provide recommendations for continuous improvement. In addition, support broader facilities activities such as inspections, minor repairs, and infrastructure work; coordinate with contractors on electrical-related tasks; and maintain tools, equipment, and work areas in a safe, clean, and compliant condition.
Other - Manage various tasks and projects as they arise and upon manager’s request, and perform any other maintenance-related or general business activities designated by the company or manager that the employee is capable of performing.
Requirements
Associate Degree in Electricial Technology or High School Diploma (or equivalent) with 3-5 years of electrical expierence in an industrial or facilities enviorment
Minimum 3 years of electricial expierence, industrial or facilities preferred
Articulate in English with good communication and written skills when dealing with individuals
Self-Motivated, Ability to work in a team environment
Profficient Computer skills
Open minded, Electrical systems, infastructure, and utilities expertise
